Russian-American Dental Association's Annual

Oral Cancer/Smoking Cessation Fundraiser

New York, NY- March 25th , Russian-American Dental Association (RADA) will hold a fundraising reception for its Oral Cancer/Smoking Cessation Campaign on Saturday, April 3rd at 230 Fifth Avenue  (at 27th St) Penthouse Lounge in the Empire Room from 11pm to 1am, following the Mashina Vremeni, 40th Anniversary Tour concert. Tickets for the fundraiser are $150 (one hundred dollars is tax deductible). All proceeds will go directly to RADA’s oral cancer screenings, “Kids 4 Kids” Anti-Smoking Drawing Contest, and for medical professionals and general public outreach programs.

More than ever RADA continues to stimulate unprecedented growth through its smoking cessation campaigns. The success and viability of the association is attributed to benevolent donors of humanitarian causes. Supporters of the organization will ensure sustained vitality and prosperity while empowering American society.

At the center of RADA’s mission lies the Oral Cancer/Smoking Cessation Project which provides free oral cancer screenings among other programs. This year’s second annual free oral cancer screenings will take place in three locations: Downtown Brooklyn, Queens, and North New Jersey. “This expansion leads to greater oral cancer awareness and overall strengthens RADA’s educational outreach. We’re excited to make an impact in more communities, and we will be screening and treating more patients,” said Dr.Sumareva, President of RADA.  The Oral Cancer and Smoking Cessation Campaign educates dentists, physicians and the general public about this debilitating disease. Participants who undergo oral cancer examination and who show suspects of oral cancer will be eligible to receive a biopsy free of charge by RADA.

Just as RADA’s extending its oral cancer screenings into new communities, it is also making significant strides in reaching a younger audience through its National “Kids 4 Kids” Anti-smoking Campaign which encourages children from grades K-8 to submit drawings exemplifying a smoke-free lifestyle. Last year the contest received over 600 drawings, and this year RADA anticipates a greater turnout.  Winners will be announced at the end of April. First prize recipient will be awarded American Express gift cards and featured in “Kids 4 Kids” 2010 magazine published by RADA.
